Shabaha Farm is a sustainable food project, which will provide fruit, vegetables, grains, dairy and meat to feed children, young people and families under our care.
Every month, Kijana Kwanza spends over £3,000 on food products and our goal in the next 5 years is to eliminate this cost entirely.
The new 7-acre plot, which has now been fenced and has its own deep water well for irrigation, is ready to start farming and has already produced its first crop of green leaf vegetables. In the months ahead we plan to build accommodation for 2 farmers, and outbuildings for dairy cows, goats and chickens.
